Bloodworms are the iron-rich, red larvae of non-biting midge flies (Chironomidae) used as a highly palatable, high-protein ( protein), and nutritious food source for carnivorous/omnivorous aquarium fish. They promote vibrant coloration and growth, available in live, frozen, or freeze-dried forms. They should be fed 2–3 times a week as a supplement.
