The Buenos Aires tetra, known scientifically as Hyphessobrycon anisitsi, is a popular freshwater aquarium fish with a silver, iridescent body and distinctive orange-red fins and a black marking on its caudal peduncle. They are larger for tetras, growing up to 7.5 cm (3 in), and are energetic, schooling fish that can be hardy.
