The Clown Loach (Chromobotia macracanthus) is a tropical freshwater fish known for its bright orange body with three distinct, wide black V-shaped bands and its elongated body shape. These popular, active, and social fish have a pointed snout with barbels and a sharp, retractable spine under each eye for defense. They are known for their playful, curious nature, often hiding in aquariums, sleeping in odd positions, and even playing dead, but they are also fast, peaceful schooling fish that prefer to be kept in groups and need plenty of space as they can grow quite large.
