The Congo Tetra is a medium-sized, peaceful schooling fish native to the Congo River Basin. It is known for its shimmering, iridescent body and flowing, elongated fins, with males being larger and more vibrantly coloured than females. They are an ideal species for community aquariums, where they occupy the middle and upper levels of the tank.
