Corydoras similis, known as the Smudge Spot or Violet Cory, is a peaceful, bottom-dwelling catfish reaching approximately 5 cm in length. It features a golden-orange head, dark spots across a light body, and a distinctive dark smudge on the caudal peduncle with purple iridescence. Native to the Rio Madeira basin in Brazil, they thrive in groups of at least 5–6 in tanks with soft, sandy substrates.
